lily is 2

I made this little shirt and skirt set for my niece Lily's second birthday.
I can't wait to see how cute she looked in it.

I just used some double sided steam 2 steam on the "2"
and then did a zig-zag stitch around it for added stability.
The skirt was super easy, I just sewed the selvage ends together,
then made the top casing for the elastic
and on the bottom instead of doing a hem (because I loathe hems)
I just sewed a cute ribbon to the wrong side of the fabric,
then ironed it to come around the front and sewed it to the front,
thus enclosing the raw edge of the fabric.
Somehow my machine is a little messed up with the tension right now
and it looks like the ribbon bottom is a little ruffled...
while its cute, it was not intentional!
