quilting

My new hobby has finally started. And I am excited. Greg always says that I have a new hobby every week. While this is not true it may be true that I work on a different project every week. But I only do that so I don't get bored. My hobbies include, scrapbooking (paper and digitally), cross-stitching, card making, and now sewing. Beckie (one of the secretaries at Immanuel) got me started in this Block a Month class at a local quilting store. So I will be making a new block for a quilt every month. She came over yesterday to show me how to use my machine and to help me with my first block. You have to have the first block done in order to get the next one for free. So with the help of Beckie, we got the first block done. Not without some frustration from the sewing machine. There seems to be a slight problem and I'm not sure if it's a machine error or an opperator error. Anyway, the block is complete and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I know that it's not perfect but neither am I, so it compliments me. This block is called the Amish Star. 1 down 11 to go! I am excited about making a quilt and now that I know how to use my machine I'll be working on my t-shirt blanket and some pillows! I am excited! Have a fun day and take up a new hobby...it's a good time!
So what do you think?
