week in review

Greg and I traveled to St. Louis last Wednesday. We left earlier than we thought we would which was a great thing. The drive was great...a little rain but no big deal. We made it to Kristin and Cory's by about 7:30pm. We were greeted not only by Kristin and Cory but Sarah and Todd were there as well! How awesome. We made quesadillas and played Scene It? Music Edition. What a great time catching up and hanging out with friends...I REALLY miss that here!

Thursday morning we slept in a little bit, then went to Peace to see Tammy and Pastor Kastens. It was so great to see them and to be able to talk with them a little bit. Pastor looks like he's doing great. I totally miss Tammy and it was so awesome to be able to catch up with her a little bit! Then we went to CiCi's to meet some of my former "kids" for lunch. We were greeted by Katherine, her mom and her brother. It was so great to see them. Then the Bryan's came, and Katie, then Deanne, Steve, Kristen and Julie, and Kristin. It was so incredible to be able to spend some time with all of them! I truly miss working with them and even just seeing them on a weekly basis! Thanks Katherine and Maureen for the great gifts! After lunch Greg and I went to Pier 1 to get a gift for Aunt Gayle. Then we drove to see our godson and of course Jen and Eric. We were planning on staying with them Thursday night but Jen was really sick (I hope you're better now Jen). So we spent about three hours talking with them and catching up, then we played Trivial Pursuit DVD edition. Asher is growing so much...he's so big and can do some great tricks! It was so great to see them! Then we drove back to south county to have dinner with Angie and Mark. We went to Applebee's! Go figure! It was fine though, I have no problem with eating there. Which I guess is a good thing since I work there. You know those people who cannot eat where they work...that says something about where they work. It was great to spend some time with Angie and Mark and hear all their exciting news. I don't think I mentioned it here yet, but they are expecting their first child in July. We are truly excited for them and can't wait to meet the newest Fischer. We then drove back to Cory and Kristin's and had another great night of hanging out! We love to spend time with them!

Friday morning we got to sleep in again, I got up and worked on my cross-stitching for Gayle's present. We then had lunch with Kristin and Cory and then drove down-town to see the stadium and to meet up with Greg's family. Then we drove to Greg's aunts house in Belleville. They have a beautiful home. We spent time playing some games and just hanging out with family. It was great. Then we opened our gifts and spent some time talking about what to do next year. Rachel, I love the scrapbooking stuff you got me...it's perfect! Then Greg and I drove home since I had swim practice at 7:30am Saturday morning and Greg got to preach at the New Years Eve service.

We went over to Justin and Megan's for a New Years party. It was a blast. We played Scene it and Balderdash. We drank some daquari's and Appletini's and had a great time socializing and hanging out. We rang in the New Year and then wished Megan a Happy Birthday!

Sunday after church, Greg and I drove to Indy to celebrate Christmas with his family and especially Holly and Gene since they were in WI on Christmas. It was great to see them and to play with Andrew...and watching him do his army crawl was awesome. Again, it was great to spend time with family and bring home the trophy. That's right whenever we all get together we have a Pinnochle tournament and there is a traveling trophy. We have won it both times we've had the tournament. This time it was a very close game between us and Greg's parents but we still won!

Well, now I'm back to the routine of working and swim practice. We won our meet tonight and have two more this week. Thanks for reading my ramblings! Have a great week and God bless you!
