christmas gifts

We weren't sure what to do for the staff at Immanuel for Christmas gifts. What do you get your Pastor? The obvious ones are there...home baked goodies, gift cards to resturants...but we wanted to do something different and unique. So we decided to make them fleece blankets and pillows. It was not the most "cost effective" gift but we were happy with the way they turned out. The cutting hurt my hand but I'm over it now.

Greg and I exchanged gifts between church services on Christmas Eve. We were both very happy with the gifts we received. Greg got a shirt and tie, Starsky and Hutch, EA Sports Baseball, Scene It? Sports Edition and a print of Busch Stadium from Shades of St. Louis

Greg got me two things that I absolutely love. One thing I have been bugging him to get me for a long time and something that I will start to use soon. I told Greg before we got married that I wanted the Willow Tree "together" statue. So today for Christmas I got it. I love it, it is beautiful and just means a lot to me. The best part is, I had no idea he was going to get it for me. He told me, now I can stop bugging him about it. He also got me this kit of thread for my sewing machine. It has 40 spools of different colored thread. It's sooooo cool. I am so excited to learn how to use my sewing machine.

Of course these material posessions are nice but nothing compares to the best gift of all. Jesus Christ coming as a baby, a human, to walk on this earth with the cross looming in front of him. I am so grateful that he came and humbled himself to become like us in order to save us from sin, death and the devil.

Merry CHRISTmas!
