do something practical

So I just got out of an extremely long Council Meeting. Let me just tell you today was not a good day for me to have to sit through one of those. I just got over having the flu this weekend and had no attention span what-so-ever...but one thing struck me as very funny and I wanted to share it with you. Let me give you a little background. I work at Peace Lutheran Church. We have a property manager who used to be a Police Officer. He will get many calls about people needing to fulfill some community service hours. So last week he got a call about a man who needed 20 community service hours. He also found out that this man was a tree trimer. So he told this man that if he would cut down two evergreen trees (that were old and blocking the view of the church) and clean them up that he would consider that his 20 hours. So the guy did the work and cleaned it all up. So our property manager was telling us all this at the council meeting tonight. To which Pastor says...(and here's the funny part). When Catholic's sin, they say the "Our Father" or pray the Rosary, when other's sin they come to Peace and do something practical.

Come on that's funny. It's not even one of those you had to be there situations. Maybe it would help if you knew our Pastor...but it's still funny. Have yourself a good chuckle and call me in the morning. Bye.
